sí biotech has launched an industrial-scale microalgae photobioreactor!
We are honoured and proud to announce the launch of the Tubular 4400-litre microalgae photobioreactor in our facility!
It is a state-of-the-art system that marks a significant step forward in our mission to harness the power of microalgae for sustainable biotechnology.
Our team of scientists has already started cultivating ‘Nannochloropsis sp.’ – a microalgae known for its exceptionally high concentration of Omega-3 Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) content. This expansion allows us to produce premium, plant-based Omega-3s and antioxidants using environmentally friendly and sustainable technology.
Soon, we’ll move on to the next step—extracting valuable bioactives from the biomass using our advanced extraction technologies.
A huge thank you to our friends and partners Pedro Fernandes Seixas AQUALGAE for their never-ending support, amazing photobioreactor, and extensive effort to install and launch it! 🚀 Your dedication and collaboration are truly appreciated!
Stay tuned as we continue our journey toward algae-derived solutions for health, nutrition, and beyond!
The new photobioreactor system has been delivered as part of the project “Establishment of a Microalgae Cultivation and Primary Processing Facility” (Project No. 23-00-U2021601-000009). This project is supported by the European Union, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia and Lauku atbalsta dienests.
A huge thanks to SEB Latvija for financing and supporting this initiative!
